Florida Emergency Nurses Association Scholarship Application - 2010

The Florida Emergency Nurses Association (FENA) recognizes the importance of continuing education for the profession and the individual practitioner.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

  • ENA membership at time of application
  • License to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Florida (as applicable)
  • Enrollment in an accredited program leading to a nursing degree
Scholarships:
  1. Three (3) $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded per year
Use of Funds:
  1. Funds may be used for any reasonable expense associated with obtaining a nursing degree
Process:
  • Complete application packet will include the following
    1. Biographical data form, signed and data, with completion of all blanks
    2. Statement of professional/educational goals
    3. References – two (2) from employer, mentor, teacher, etc.
    4. Transcript if currently enrolled in program
    5. Letter of acceptance if not currently enrolled in a program
Applications not meeting all of the above requirements will be ineligible for review.

Review Process:
  • Applications will be reviewed by the Awards and Scholarship committee
  • The criteria for determining awards and the percentage of the applicant’s score are as follows:
    1. Content/clarity of goal statement (45%)
    2. Level of professional involvement (45%)
    3. GPA (10%)
Completed applications will be discarded after review. It is necessary to resubmit an application each time that consideration for a scholarship is requested. Applications and all accompanying material become the property of FENA and may not be returned.

Deadline:
Completed applications must be received by July 1, 2010. Awardees will be announced at the October, 2010 Florida ENA meeting and mailed to recipients immediately thereafter.
